We recently purchased a 616 cut -n-fry, and we were wondering if you can use oil instead of shortening, and if not, why? We want to get a good idea about how it works before we try it out.
Oil will not damage your 616. Shortening is the preferred medium for preparing your donuts for a few reasons:
1. Your donuts will not absorb as much shortening as oil while frying.
2. If you are preparing donuts that will be sitting in a case or otherwise for any extended period of time, gravity will affect the oil cooked donuts more. The donuts will become "greasy" and/or "soggy" on the bottom with shelf time. If you are doing a fast turnover (with little to no shelf time) this will not be an issue.

We crate and ship using common carrier.
Our technicians can deliver and install.
We can use another carrier of your choice.

B.A.K.E Marketing is centrally located in middle Tennessee, in the city of Burns (a suburb of Dickson). After exiting Interstate 40, we are just eight miles due west on Hwy 96, exit #182. This exit is approximately 30 miles west of Nashville or approximately 180 miles east of Memphis.
The most convenient airport to use when visiting B.A.K.E. Marketing would be Nashville International Airport (BNA). BNA is located just off Interstate 40, the interstate that will bring you to Burns, Tennessee. As you exit the airport, follow the signs directing you towards I-40 West. I-40 will split approximately one mile west, leaving the airport. I-440 west will route you around Nashville in the correct direction. Just follow the signs that lead you toward Memphis, exiting onto Hwy 96 west, exit #182.
